Brisbane's Botanic Gardens are a peaceful respite from the hustle and bustle of the CBD. Greenthumbs will appreciate the unique tropical plants here, but anyone can enjoy the scenic walks and bike tracks that skirt the ponds, gardens and Brisbane River. There are picnic areas for public use, or pop into the City Gardens Cafe for lunch or just a snack (our favourite offering is their traditional "high tea"). Greenies should also check out the free guided tours that take place at 11am and 1pm Mondays to Saturdays.
