Kings Park - Perth, Australia

Main Entrance via Kings Park Road

Visit Website

Certainly a place fit for a king, King's Park is one of Perth's most scenic vantage points and where you'll find families and couples congregating any afternoon of the week. The park covers about a thousand acres and there's plenty of walking trails (both scenic and through bushland), as well as loads of grassy knolls to plonk yourself down on. In fact, for many West Australians and visitors alike, it's the best way to enjoy a sunny day (and there are plenty of those). There are also barbecue facilities available for those a little more organised. If you haven't packed a picnic basket and are looking for something to eat, nearby is Fraser's Restaurant as well as Zamia Cafe. Also look out for the State War Memorial, not easily missed as it's in the prime position overlooking the city of Perth, the Swan and Canning Rivers and the Darling Ranges.
