It's a restaurant for which locals are happy to wait months for a table. It's a restaurant that doesn't need a large exterior sign to attract attention. It's certainly not your average suburban dining venue: tables clothed in crisp white linen are served by wait-staff clad in white gloves. Jackson's has a reputation that precedes itself and the restaurant itself exudes understated sophistication. For those looking to indulge, we recommend the nine-course tasting menu ($95), also available with matching wines ($140). For those with a little more restraint, the menu will impress with dishes such as rabbit baked in prosciutto or the signature dish of roast duck breast and leg confit with rosemary pear and black pepper sauce (both around the $33 mark). There are also great vegetarian options including a delicious beetroot risotto with parsnip fritters, Persian fetta and horseradish. And don't miss the apple and rhubarb meringue with lavender ice-cream for desserts. Needless to say, bookings are essential (and may need to be made well before your arrival).
