The Cape Byron Lighthouse is on Australia's most easterly point and
the spectacular views it provides are the stuff of postcards and movies. Come here from late-May to early October and you may even be lucky enough to spot some whales on their annual northern pilgrimage. Parking is available at the lighthouse, but it'll cost you. We recommend walking up to the lighthouse and soaking up the views (but it is a bit of a hike so you want to be reasonably fit - don't take your granny this way!). Adrenalin junkies can hire a hang glider (and instructor) and glide down to the beach from the lighthouse.
