Sleek and business-like, the Westin hotel will suit business travellers, couples and fans of classic, minimalist hotel design. It's right in the heart of the CBD and shopping district (ladies, take note) and the Wynyard train station is just across George Street. One of our favourite things about the Westin is that it's perched above the historic GPO, which was lovingly restored just a few years ago. It now contains, among other things, fancy shops, the hip Senate bar, Prime (for steak-lovers), an oyster bar, an upmarket sushi restaurant and a pizza bar - our favourite for a quick, cheap bite.
