Probably the most family-friendly beach in Sydney, Bronte Beach has three standout features: a small beach encased by two headlands, giving it a private feel; an enormous park complete with barbecue huts; and a fantastic strip of trendy cafes and restaurants. Come here of a weekend and you'll see typical Sydney scenes: young kids racing to the surf during "nipper" training (junior surf lifesaving), families setting up picnics and barbecues, and the gorgeous young set sipping coffee and eating brunch. As always we recommend you swim between the flags as the short break here can lead to a washing machine-like environment and plenty of dumping (and we learnt this the hard way!)
