The main cathedral for Catholics in Sydney, St Mary's is a striking example of gothic revival architecture. You're allowed to wander around inside (respectfully, of course) and you can attend mass even if you're not a Catholic - just sit quietly down the back. It's a bit like stepping back in time to the Catholic churches of old - Sunday mass features rituals such as the ringing of bells and use of incense that you don't see in too many Catholic churches today.
