Battery Point - Hobart, Australia
A suburb that's also a piece of history
Exploring the streets of Battery Point is like taking a walk through Australian history and you'll soon see why Hobart is home to more than one-third of Australia's National Trust properties. Displaying an array of colonial and Georgian architecture, Battery Point also offers a great collection of local shopping and eating haunts. Make sure you visit Arthur's Circus, Hobart's famous "circular street". Take a leisurely walk down to the water (through Errol Flynn Reserve), stop by the Narryna Heritage Museum (6234 2791) and finish off the day with some of the best Italian food you'll ever find at Da Angelo Ristorante (6223 7011).
