Opened in 1971, Seaworld was the theme park that put the Gold Coast on the map, but it's a theme park with a difference. Along with all the fun rides and attractions you'd expect, Seaworld aims to educate its visitors by providing an insight into Australia's marine life - you can even swim with the dolphins or take a dip in the shark tank. The park is constantly adding new rides and exhibits: the stand-outs include the Polar Bear Shores, the Corkscrew Rollercoaster, Cartoon Beach (just for littlies), the new Shark Bay and the exciting live water skiing shows. During summer, pack your swimmers so you can cool off in Seaworld's swimming lagoons and waterslide park.

Seaworld is open daily from 10am to 5pm and costs $62 for adults and $40 for children aged 4 to 13.
