There is nowhere on the entire 70km of Gold Coast beach that isn't worth visiting, but if you're forced to pick, Broadbeach is arguably the best. With a wide strip of white, fine sand, large rolling surf, life guards, a 35-acre park, plenty of parking and great restaurants nearby, you can't go wrong. Stick between the flags when swimming and don't forget the sunscreen. If you're after an interesting walk, check out the US$10 million dollar mansions on Hedges Avenue, which runs along the beach immediately south of the park.
