Granville Island Public Market is the heart and soul of Granville Island and one of Vancouver's must-experience places. Everything that's available in Vancouver's ethnic and mainstream communities is here with Italian, Japanese, East Asian, Chinese, and European products sold at stalls in this 4645 sq. m (50,000 sq. ft.) waterfront building. As with Seattle's Pike Place Market, you don't even have to buy anything. More than a few Vancouverites arrive early in the morning and walk among the hundreds of stalls just people watching and experiencing the moment. Outside on the north-side docks are benches and tables for leisurely snacking.
