The Bay is more than just another department store. More than any other Canadian institution, this company is responsible for much of the exploration that led to Canada becoming a nation. Today, Vancouver's major outlet, the downtown Bay (nobody calls it the Hudson's Bay Company) stocks classic items like the Hudson's Bay woollen blanket, but there are also mini-designer stores like Hilfiger, Polo and others within the large complex.
