Bring your best manners and an empty stomach to Sunday brunch at the Verandah, part of the grand old colonial Repulse Bay Hotel at, yes you guessed it, Repulse Bay. It shares the same owners as The Peninsula, so you know you're in for a special treat. The spread at the brunch buffet is decadent: salads, antipasti, sushi, seafood, Asian specialties and a dessert bar with a chocolate fountain (it really is every bit as good as it sounds). And just when you're wondering how you'll get through all that food, a waiter will come and take your order for a "main meal" that the chefs whip up in the kitchen. As you may expect, service (from tuxedo-wearing waiters) is exemplary and there's even a jazz band playing classic chill out tunes. Our tip? Set aside a few hours, bring the newspapers and make a day of it. To get here, catch a taxi or any of the buses going from Central to Stanley. Don't forget to book ahead as brunch is very popular. Brunch is HK$330 before taxes.
