Maxim's Palace - Hong Kong, China

2nd Floor, City Hall Low Block, Central

(+852) 2526 9931

Enjoying a dim sum meal is a quintessential Hong Kong experience that you absolutely cannot miss. And Maxim's at City Hall is one of the best - Hong Kong's Chief Executive Donald Tsang apparently dines here regularly and it was recently voted the best dim sum restaurant by "HK Magazine". Like any other typically raucous dim sum restaurant, Maxim's is always packed and it's full of intimidating trolley ladies who practically scream the names of the dim sum at you. There's a small English menu but it doesn't cover everything, so just order things you like the look of and hope for the best (watch out for the chicken feet!) It's extremely popular so it's best to arrive as close to opening time as possible, otherwise you face a wait of up to an hour. Average meal: $120-180 per person (depending on how hungry you are!)
