With its spectacular location on the banks of the River Arno and its sumptuous interiors, the Westin Excelsior is undoubtedly one of Florence's top hotels. It has even been named one of the "Top 75 Hotels in Europe" in 2005 in the Conde Nast Traveler magazines. The Westin is also famous for its aperitif nights attended by Florentines (held every two weeks in winter). As you can imagine, luxury in the centre of Florence doesn't come cheap - rates start at 450 euros a night. If that doesn't phase you, book a room with a terrace overlooking the river.
