As hard as it is to believe, what you see here is the simplified version of the original, more complex design. The Umeda Sky Building is a rare kind of place and you'll spend half your time wondering how they built it and the other half how on earth they came up with the idea. Built in 1993, this 173-metre structure encapsulates modern Osaka - ultra-futuristic, a little extravagant and a tad bizarre. There are two towers connected at the top by two pedestrian foot bridges and an escalator suspended in a glass tube. The original plan called for four towers, but we think it's impressive enough just the way it is.
