Ask any cabbie what the swankiest hotel in Osaka is and chances are, they'll tell you Swissotel Nankai. Luckily though, this isn't reflected in the room rates. With its central location, ultra modern layout and bewildering array of facilities, Swissotel is almost a city unto itself. As well as numerous dining options, there's an enormous department store attached to the first floor, a world-class spa on the eleventh and numerous futuristic sky bridges and underground walkways connecting you to other attractions nearby. If you're trying to look after your waistline, stay away from Cafe Swiss on the sixth floor which offers a wondrous chocolate and dessert buffet. Oh wait, hang on... reception is on the sixth floor so you've got no choice (don't say you weren't warned!).
