Petronas Twin Towers - Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
KLCC, Kuala Lumpur
Visit Website
There isn't a single brochure or TV advertisement about KL that doesn't feature the Petronas Towers - they have truly become a symbol of the city. But seeing them on TV or in print is nothing compared with seeing the 452-metres-high (1483 feet) structure in person, as proven by the number of people you'll find around the compound, heads looking up with squinted eyes, mouths agape and a camera in hand. Once the world's tallest building (it was superseded by Taipei 101 in 2004), the two buildings house offices and a shopping mall. The towers are joined by a skybridge which is open for visitors. Admission is free, however it's limited to 1300 visitors per day. Tickets are snapped up faster than free beers on a Saturday night, so go early. The skybridge is open Tuesday to Sunday, 8.30am to 5pm.
