The Arena has gone through numerous incarnations: it's been an orphanage, a nursing home, a 600-bed youth hostel and these days it's a designer hotel. Rooms are minimalist with sparse furnishings and stark white interiors that contrast with the polished wooden floors. It's location is great, just five minutes from the centre of town, and there are plenty of sights nearby. The hotel also features an excellent restaurant, a trendy bar and a club, housed in the former chapel, which is famous with locals for its '80s and '90s parties. Room rates vary from 80 to 225 euros in low season or 110 to 275 euros in high season.
