With its stunning Palladian architecture and prime riverfront position, the Fullerton is the epitome of old-fashioned colonial elegance. Once the post office for the British Empire, the building was transformed in the late 1990s into a hotel. The location is excellent - on the water, next to the CBD and a short walk to Raffles Place train station - which means it's only minutes to just about anywhere. Rooms are stylish though a little on the small side. Post bar is one of the city's most swanky late-night haunts, and if you have a sweet tooth, the weekend chocolate buffet (complete with a chocolate fountain!) is to die for.
