Even if you're not into yoga, self-help guides, eastern philosophies or tarot card reading, we can almost guarantee that you'll find something to love on the menu of this alternative cafe. Located in an increasingly trendy part of Chinatown, the Whatever Cafe is part of a larger complex of yoga studios, bookstore and "healing space". Using mostly organic ingredients, the food ranges from soups, salads and sandwiches to pizza and pasta. For a healthy boost, grab a "Lifestyle Enhancement" juice (we love the "peak performer") and take in the zen atmosphere. But if you're not feeling quite so virtuous, the coffee is excellent and there's a range of tempting cakes and cookies - the pineapple upside-down cake gets us every time. And if you have any dietary restrictions, this is the place for you: every menu item is categorised so you'll know if it's gluten, egg, dairy, wheat or sugar free and the staff will do their best to accommodate any special requests.
