The latest hotel to hit Singapore's hip hotel scene is the New Majestic: the antithesis of the big business hotel. Owned by the same crew that operates 1929, the hotel has only 30 rooms - but boy are they something! Each room has been decorated by a different local artist and contain unique features like ornate bath tubs (some outdoors!), bizarre artistic installations, Bose stereos and Kiehl's toiletries. There's also a rooftop lap pool, a swish Cantonese restaurant and an open-air lobby filled with vintage furniture. Service is super friendly and so are the prices: rates can go as low as $180/night. Every nook and cranny of this hotel will present you with a new discovery - you'll be talking about it for a long time after your stay.
