One of the hottest restaurant openings of recent times is the unassuming Arbutus. Located close to Soho Square in the heart of the West End, Arbutus is a small, stylish restaurant offering international cuisine with a a French slant. Service is professional and knowledgeable and the interior design is understated, leaving room for the food to shine - and it does. Standout dishes include the roast rabbit with shoulder cottage pie, and the Elwy Valley rump of lamb with tortellini of goat's cheese. A dessert of warm chocolate soup certainly sounded intriguing and also got the thumbs up. One of the best features of Arbutus is that all the wines on the well-selected list are available in a 250ml carafe, so try a few different wines with your meal.
Average price for a three-course meal is about £25-30 (not including wine).
