The cute name gives nothing away - this funky restaurant is actually Chinese (although Chinese do love their table tennis, don't they?). Ping Pong is a modern dim sum restaurant that describes its food as "little steamed parcels of deliciousness" - an accurate description. Simply mark up your menu choices on a tally sheet and hand it to one of the friendly staff. Before you know it you'll be tasting such delights as Char Sui Bun (Steamed Pork Buns), Har Gau (Prawn & Bamboo steamed Dumplings) or perhaps a Crispy Hoi Sin Duck Fried Roll. Each small dish contains a couple of items - perfect for sharing - and will set you back about £3. Ping Pong also has great value set lunches for £10-12. And don't miss their inventive cocktails.
Several branches of Ping Pong are starting to pop up around Central London - check the website for more details. No bookings are taken except for tables of eight, so just show up and hope for the best.
