On cold London nights, there's no better way to warm up than with a shot of vodka (or two) and hearty comfort food. Interested? Head south of the river to Baltic, an Eastern European restaurant located in Southwark, close to Waterloo. When you enter the restaurant you'll find yourself in a moodily-lit bar, which is great for a pre- or post-dinner drink. Move on to the restaurant and the mood changes to a bright dining area with exposed beams and high vaulted glass roof. The extensive menu covers a range of Eastern European delicacies - perhaps some Siberian Pelmeni (£6.50) to start followed by the Goose Leg Confit with Sauerkraut (£14.50), or why not try the Golabki (veal stuffed cabbage leaves with cranberry sauce) (£12.50)? If you have room for more, the Nalesniki (crepes filled with sweet cheese, almonds and raisins) (£4.50) - will make you glad you stopped by. And that vodka we mentioned? There's a menu of 35 different varieties to choose from!
