Want to stock up on the latest fashions? In the UK you have to hit the High Street. Most boroughs in London have a high street (main road) filled with shops selling reasonably priced fashionable clothing and accessories. The biggest high street of them all is Oxford Street in the West End, said to be the busiest street in Europe - it runs for a mile and a half and is particularly hectic on a Saturday afternoon.
Look out for the huge Top Shop flagship store, (frequented by lots of celebrities) and other large chain stores such as GAP, Zara and H&M. There are several large department stores worth checking out, including our favourite - the stunning Selfridges, with its designer clothes and gourmet food hall. Feeling worn out? Hidden just off Oxford Street, close to Selfridges, is the lovely St Christopher's Place. Home to several cafes, it's the perfect spot to rest your weary feet.
