To stay at Brown's is to experience a slice of English history and culture. Founded in 1837, it was one of the city's first upmarket hotels, constructed from 11 Georgian town houses that have been converted into 117 bedrooms. Alexander Graham Bell made his first successful British telephone call from Brown's in 1876, and Rudyard Kipling wrote The Jungle Book while staying here. Brown's is also renowned for its classic afternoon teas, taken in the (not so imaginatively titled) English Tea Room. Another great feature of Brown's is its fantastic location in the heart of Mayfair - ideal for browsing in the designer shops on Bond Street, taking in the lights of Piccadilly Circus or strolling in Green Park.
