Welcome to the self-proclaimed "Center of the Universe." The neighbourhood of Fremont lives by the motto "Delibertus Quirkus" (Freedom to be Peculiar) due to its history of counter-culture. Recent years have capitalised and conformised the neighbourhood, but its eccentricites still remain. You may be shocked by the enormous statue of Vladimir Lenin amidst a busy intersection or the concrete Troll under the Aurora Bridge. Perhaps you'll spot the Cold War Rocket erected on top of a building. Cafes, restaurants, nightlife and the Sunday Farmer's Market may draw you here as well.
