Often jokingly called the McDonald's of Vietnam, you can find a Pho 24 in many parts of HCMC. But there are no burgers in sight: this restaurant serves up a delicious version of pho bo, the national dish of beef rice noodle soup served with a plate of bean sprouts, lemon wedges, onions, chilli, sauces and fresh mint. While a meal of soup, spring rolls and a drink will set you back US$6 (at least double what you'd pay elsewhere), we think Pho 24 is worth it for the more pleasant ambience and high level of cleanliness. And others agreee - the famous food blog based in Vietnam, Noodle Pie, rates Pho 24 as one of the best places to eat pho in the country. And you certainly can't say that about the golden arches!
